We have filed a patent entitled
“Low-Dimensional Conduction Channel and Functional Ceramic Based on Monoclinic Ferroelastic Domains and Manufacturing Method.”
This functional ceramic compound will be introduced in a future publication.
The material is based on monoclinic ferroelastic domains exhibiting approximately 2% spontaneous lattice distortion at room temperature, while preserving canted magnetic characteristics above room temperature.
As a functional platform material, it may provide opportunities for future semiconductor and quantum-material applications involving low-dimensional conduction channels formed along ferroelastic domain boundaries.
In particular, ferroelastic domain-boundary conduction channels have attracted increasing interest as potential platforms for nanoscale electronic and semiconductor device technologies. We expect that this material system may contribute to future studies in these areas.
